New projects!
RanestRane reveiled their secrets to Whiskey Soda magazine during the Night of the Prog Festival which can be found here
**We wrote new music and dealt with a very well known war movie. May we betray that? "
Whiskey soda is one of the first magazines to tell you something about the new RanestRane projects. The well-known war film is of course Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam masterpiece "Apocalypse Now". The film from the 70s came later in an extended "Redux version" again in the movie theaters and was recently brought to a new anniversary edition as a so-called "Final Cut" with improved image and sound quality again in selected cinemas. Martin Sheen's cinematic journey into the jungle and the abysmal madness of the war is therefore the new inspiration for the Italians, and one can be very excited about the result.
But that's not all. The creative musicians have another secret in their hands. "We are currently working on another project. It will be a 'CineConcert' that deals with the Alan Parker adaptation of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'. Now we have revealed two secrets. We will interpret the Pink Floyd music and use our own music for the parts in the film that are so far without music. "Again, the music will be perfectly synchronized to the film.**

RanestRane goes Gothenburg
RanestRane went to Gothenburg for the very first time. Full of excitement and joy we went to Musikens Hus Gothenburg on the 4th of March.
GARF arranged a lovely mini festival where RanestRane was the second act. Together with Skull Parade and main act Änglagård we tried to make a wonderful evening full of music.
It's always a bit scary and nervous to enter a new venue, a new place, this would be the first time in Sweden. RanestRane delivered the best they could and we from Fanweb Scandinavia had only our hope and believe in the best for the start of something beautiful in Sweden. The concert was wonderful and we were not the only one with these thoughts. We received a lot of great feedback from fans and new fans! We would love to share these words with you, words from the fans in Sweden.
Karl Göran Karlsson: " Thanks for a fantastic gig! The whole concert was good but the peak of your performance was "Monolith - Part II". Absolutely superb! I really like Italian prog and Ranestrane is surely another excellent contribution here. I wish you good luck with your tour and hope to see you soon again in Sweden."
Robert Larsson: Robert, Lilian and RanestRane. It was a pleasure to have you here. A splendid perfomance, the audience were really excited after the show. You noticed it in the merch area, right? :) And Riccardo, thank´s for not giving up when technique wasn´t on the friendly side. Perfect!!! Good luck with the rest of the tour!
Martin Hansen: I think this was the best concert I've heard for a long time. Your music and videoprojection was very nice, I like this kind of music. It was a very good first gig here in Sweden and I hope this was not the last time we see you here. You are always welcome back in Sweden. We love you. Your show was fantastic, and you are such good musicians together. Keep on playing and make new music. Forza Italia!!/Martin Hansen
Jan Erik wrote us an email:
" We started a trip on a cold saturday morning from our home 400 km away from Gothenborg, it has snowed that night, not that much, but still I was wondering how will it be to drive in this weather. But lucky we were, my wife and I, it was no problem at all. We came to the biggest city on the west coast of Sweden and were eating some dinner before we went to Musikens Hus.
The first band was Skull Parade. At 20.00 THE band I have want to see live for so long time, entered the stage, and I must say it was amazing! Right from the beginning I got the shivers and goosebumps and felt so happy, they played and they got the audience to realise what they are experiencing, This band is good. And as longer the show went on the audience started to dance, scream and and make big applause, Ranestrane THEY came, THEY played and THEY succeed, I spoke with some other people after the show and one man said, this was just amazing, it was true magic, Those Italians, they can play, this was the best concert I've seen after so many years, and I just said; I agree. I'm sure that they made a footprint in Gothenborg and I hope that it will spread over Sweden so we can go and see Ranestrane again, This was magic as the man said, true magic and I can drive 1000 km just to see them again, but I think I will take a plane instead, because I will see RanestRane again, that's for sure"

Review Concert RanestRane in Uden 6th of December.
Buongiorno!
Our friend Henri Strik of Background Magazine surprised us with a lovely review of the concert in Uden The Netherlands which was on the 6th of December.
Our friend Henri Strik of Background Magazine surprised us with a lovely review of the concert in Uden The Netherlands which was on the 6th of December.
The first set was for the brand new album H.A.L.. The music they would perform was almost completely new to me, because the album was on sale for the first time during this tour. Only their first tease (Spacewalk) on the band's first live release Monolith In Rome - A Space Odyssey Live (2015, see review) and a couple of video fragments on the internet revealed what I could expect.

Roel Strik made video's during the show which you can see here below.
Thank you Roel and Henri for your review and video's!!

Review Concert Copenhagen the 4th of December
Robert wrote a review about the gig last weekend in Copenhagen!
We had a great time in this city with much learning and discovering regarding the band and this concert. We truly hope that we can do this all over again :-)
Hereby some photo's regarding the concert:
The review of Robert:
Hi all
As promised the review about the RanestRane-show in Copenhagen at Friday the 4th of December 2015.
The event took place at a beautiful venue arranged by promoter Karsten Mortensen called Koncertkirken in Copenhagen.
The show
RanestRane kicked of with a beautiful intro which fitted perfectly. It took place in a church, what went on into the intro of the first song of H.A.L, the NEW album.
After the boys took their place on the stage, the "real thing" started, H.A.L in full length and power!
It took a few songs before the sound was good but during "Spacewalk" it got better and it was starting to get on "fire"!!!! The audience noticed that too and gave a warm applause after every played song, and that’s more than deserved due to the fact that H.A.L is a ”Masterpiece"!!! I will come with a review about HAL later. Without forgetting one of the other musicians, they are all four superb! The ballad "Buio Intorno" really made a ”marker" with Riccardo Romano on keyboards and Danny Pomo on vocals. But the passion and power they give to that song is just magnificent, magical!!!
The other song what really gave a thrill was ”Computer Malfunction”, here the band showed their skill on the instruments, combined with the Italian passion...."GRANDE"!!!!
After this the boys took a five minute break to come back with some of the older stuff starting with "Shining".
Kicking of with "Redrum" is by no means probably the best example about whats it all about with RanestRane.....music and movie....the classic scene of Jack breaking down the door with his axe, and Danny Pomo playing his drums. You just have to see that! I made a video of it, and it’s on You Tube called ’RanestRane Live in Copenhagen’!!! During this set I got the feeling the guys really where on fire and gave it all, great set in every way!
After this it was time for the more "Romantic and Classic”, Nosferatu.....
There just was "something" about this set, the music, Dracula, Lucy and all this played in a church.
It was almost if everybody was "in the music" and "in the movie" a strange vibe but good vibe, it just felt right!
I think a lot of RR fans have a "thing" for the Nosferatu album. Maybe because its their first, or maybe it’s the story.....but there is "something".
At the end it was time for some Monolith. Here the guys put’s on their best jacket and rocked the house!!! Leaving the audience with a standing ovation!!!
To return for an encore where some other Nosferatu pieces where played.
All good things come to an end… the audience loved it, and I talked to a lot of happy people after the show and got a lot of good and helpful feedback.
On a personal note;
Was it all perfect then? I asked myself......well probably not. Some things can be better or done different maybe, but it’s RR first European solo-tour. So there is probably a lot to learn too....
But for many of us, and them too, it’s a memory for life and a new experience where everybody has learned from, which can be helpful in the future.
One thing I do think we all have in common when it comes to this band: They deserve the best!!!! If they had unlimited resources to do it like they want it to??
Think BIG now!!......But until then its gonna be a "struggle" to survive in a "music-industry" where people hardly take the time anymore to listen to music.....sad but true..
But we will keep on supporting this magnificent band with whole our hearts and do our best to make it work out right!!!
Hoping to see you out there again at another RanestRane gig!!!
